The Judas Syndrome

Bachelor of Applied Arts - Illustration

Graduation Year: 1994
I am proud to have published my first novel, The Judas Syndrome, in July 2009. The Judas Syndrome is a portrait of survival against the odds. The protagonist, Joel and his friends are on the verge of graduation and excited and optimistic about their futures. But when they return from a camping trip in the remote woodlands, they find themselves faced with a post-apocalyptic world, where their dreams of entering college have disintegrated with the rest of the civilized world. My book should appeal to those who enjoy The Lord of the Flies by William Golding, and The Road by Cormac McCarthy.
The novel has received quite a bit of positive buzz online, particularly on the goodreads and amazon websites.

Writing is something I’ve always enjoyed since I first learned to form sentences, and growing up in a small town north of Toronto helped nurture my creativity and imagination.

I began my career as a freelance illustrator, working for ad agencies, select magazines and a number of other media-related businesses. My professional direction evolved over the years and I am now the Marketing Manager for Blue Giant Equipment Corporation, a worldwide company headquartered in Ontario. Though I am delighted to have come this far – thanks in great part to Sheridan - I had been working towards a novel for several years.

The Judas Syndrome took a long time to write, but much longer to edit down to its finished state. After work, during lunch breaks and on weekends I managed my time best I could to pursue my dream. It's a pretty amazing thing to know that someone else is living a story you wrote.
