If you notice a higher level of the colour pink on campus than normal next week, there is a good reason for it. January 14th to 18th is "Think Pink" week at Sheridan, an event geared to raising awareness and funds in support of breast cancer research.
"Think Pink" is a joint initiative of Student Services, the Student Union and Sheridan Athletics, who have teamed up to organize a wide variety of events and activities at various campus locations, culminating in a "Think Pink" basketball doubleheader against Humber College on Friday, January 18th.
Among the week's activities: Library Services will offer learning events and activities geared to breast cancer awareness; Cooperative Education will be serving pink cupcakes and hosting a jellybean-counting contest; Counselling and Disability Services will host a Think Pink – Build Balance event; and Police Foundations students will take part in a treadmill relay in support of breast cancer research. Full details are available by clicking "Think Pink" on the Sheridan homepage.
"Breast cancer is a disease that will touch many of us in some way during our lives, be it personally or through friends and family members," says Joe Henry of Student Services. "We invite everyone in the Sheridan community to 'Think Pink' next week, by raising their own awareness and helping us to raise funds to help combat breast cancer."
