Many Voices: A Sheridan Aboriginal Awareness Event

Please join us on Thursday September 24, 2009, when Sheridan College will host “Many Voices” the second annual Aboriginal Awareness Committee Event. The event will be held at the Trafalgar Road Campus in Oakville from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This free event is organized to raise awareness and educate Sheridan faculty, staff, students and members of the community (including Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people) about Aboriginal Peoples’ heritage and culture. Organized by the Sheridan College Aboriginal Awareness Committee, Many Voices will feature workshops on Aboriginal traditions, history, culture and current issues.

Lunchtime entertainment will include drumming, song and dance.

Feed the Children Canada (FTC) will once again have bins set up and welcome donations of non-perishable food items and infant needs.  All items will be shipped to Northern communities where the need is great.

Many Voices will commence with opening ceremonies at 8:30 am and conclude with the closing ceremonies at 4:15. Both opening and closing ceremonies will take place along the river walk between the C and J wings.  We look forward to seeing you on the 24th.
