Parking
The lands and grounds of Sheridan College are PRIVATE PROPERTY. The College reserves the right to control all motor vehicle access on all of its property. All applicable regulations, provincial laws and municipal by-laws may be invoked by Sheridan College at any time for the purpose of preventing unauthorized parking and ensuring access to fire routes. Sheridan reserves the right to control parking and traffic on campus, to prohibit access to any vehicle or driver and to restrict parking at any time for emergencies, events, construction or other purposes. In such instances every attempt will be made to provide alternate parking and where possible, advance notice will be given.
Parking regulations at Sheridan are established under the authority of the Board of Governors to encourage the safe, orderly, and equitable use of the limited number of parking spaces available to students, staff, faculty, and visitors on campus. If you park illegally and do not find a ticket on your vehicle, do not assume you did not get a ticket. It is possible that someone removed a ticket from your vehicle and put it on their vehicle in an attempt to avoid a ticket. Notwithstanding, you will still be responsible for any tickets issued to your vehicle and any vehicles registered in your parking account. To avoid this problem, do not park illegally. We also recommend that you check your parking account periodically.
All vehicles parked on College property MUST properly display either:
- a current valid parking permit;
- a valid hourly parking permit;
- an authorized guest permit;
- be legally parked at a meter.
There are a variety of permits available for sale, for the most up to date fee, please contact Security or the Cash office at any campus.
The issuance of a permit does not guarantee the availability of a parking space, or a space in any particular lot. It constitutes a license to park on campus in a clearly defined legal parking space. It is the driver’s responsibility to display their permit in such a manner that the date, time and serial number of the permit is clearly visible from outside the car.
Complimentary parking is available on a restricted and case by case basis and must be approved by the Manager of Security and Parking Services. A request can be made by phone, email or memo at least 48 hours in advance of the visitor.
