Bachelor of Applied Arts (Music Theatre Performance)
Dear Guidance Counsellor
As Sheridan College continues to grow, we are pleased to be adding new programs to our current offerings. I am writing to inform you that beginning in September 2011, Sheridan will launch a new four-year bachelor’s degree program, Bachelor of Applied Arts (Music Theatre Performance). Applications to this degree program are now being accepted at ontariocolleges.ca
Music theatre performers compete on an international stage with degree-credentialed counterparts. Offering this program as a bachelor’s degree will ensure that Sheridan graduates remain on the leading edge in a highly-competitive industry.
This program builds on the strengths of Sheridan’s current related arts programs through degree-level curriculum for the disciplines of acting, singing, dancing and music, all of which will be informed by professional, entrepreneurial and breadth studies. Through research, critical analysis and scholarly writing, complemented by intensive studio studies, students will prepare for performance careers in theatre and media and become well positioned to provide industry leadership.
