Flexible Options for Work and Study
The chemical lab technician diploma program begins with a solid academic foundation with courses in organic and inorganic chemistry, calculus and advanced science. Course credits can be transferred (either before or after graduation) directly to the Chemical Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering Technology - Environmental or Environmental Technician programs at Sheridan, making the Chemical Laboratory Technician option extremely flexible.
Graduates of these programs have an excellent record of continuing their study at universities to obtain degrees in chemistry, chemical engineering and related disciplines.
The Chemical Laboratory Technician Program is nationally accredited by the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board. Graduates have completed all the academic requirements for professional certification with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT). Additional requirements for certification exist and are established by OACETT. Graduates are also eligible for membership in the Chemical Institute of Canada.
