More than one graduate of Sheridan’s Marketing Management Program has said something like that. And it’s not hard to see why. You may learn theory at university, but at Sheridan you also gain the practical skills employers want and need along with a cooperative learning placement that gives you invaluable on-the-job experience.

Here are a few of the things you’ll accomplish during your year of marketing management training: 

  • Write marketing plans that analyze the unique situation a firm faces and make recommendations on actions to keep the organization competitive
  • Conduct market research for an actual client and use it as background for a marketing plan
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and marketing communications plans
  • Know the basic principles of customer relationship management and supply chain management along with a broad range of strategies to optimize both
  • Get prepared for the challenges of global marketing
  • Apply basic skills in marketing graphics to generate support materials such as brochures, newsletters and Web page updates

Cooperative Education Opportunity 

Following eight months of Marketing Management classroom instruction, you'll participate in a four-month cooperative education placement within the marketing field. This on-the-job experience can be just the career boost you need to land a great job.

Mobile Computing Program

Business runs on technology today a laptop computer is mandatory for all students in the program as it is an integral part of everything we do. All materials used in class are available online and you'll undertake collaborative assignments with your classmates working on the computer. Plus, you’ll have 24/7access to class materials, notes and even to a chat room where you can confer with other students and your professors.

The Marketing Management Program is offered at the Hazel McCallion Campus in Mississauga, Ontario.

  • Formulate a marketing plan including marketing objectives, marketing mix, strategies, budgetary considerations, and evaluation criteria.
  • Develop pricing strategies which take into account perceived value, competitive pressures, and corporate objectives.
  • Develop strategies for the efficient distribution of products and services.
  • Apply the principles of business ethics and corporate social responsibility.
  • Prepare the marketing component of a business plan.
  • Determine strategies for developing new products and services that are consistent with evolving market needs.
  • Evaluate the viability of marketing a product or service in an international market or markets.
  • Evaluate results of marketing activities using criteria related to budgeted sales, costs, and profits.
  • Prepare and deliver a sales presentation.
  • Conduct primary research on market conditions in order to determine existing and potential levels of activity for particular products and services.
  • Communicate marketing information persuasively and accurately in oral, written and graphic formats.

  • Demonstrated competence through related work and/or educational experience

Applicant Selection

Eligible applicants are selected on the basis of previous academic achievement, and/or demonstrated experience.

In some cases, applicants may be requested to submit a résumé, which includes details of related work experience, and a cover letter, which summarizes their career goals and reasons for wanting to take this program.

Postsecondary transcripts, indicating courses completed to date, must be submitted to ontariocolleges.ca at the time of application.

Applicants who do not meet the admission requirements for this program will be assessed and advised individually and may be considered for other, related programs.

Graduates of Sheridan’s diploma/advanced diploma program in Business Administration – Marketing are not considered eligible for this program due to repetitiveness of course content.
